Mask Girl, which surprised viewers with all the actors' shocking transformation, was once a hot topic when it was reported that legendary actor Ko Hyun-jung was cast as the main character Kim Mo-mi, but recently drew keen attention due to expectations for the new Kim Mo-mi Lea Han Byeol.

The video below is about three turbulent lives of a Mask Girl. Click on the video to view it.
As a result, I think it was enough to meet everyone's expectations, except that it ended in a short episode and it was a bit disappointing to contain all the rich contents of the original.
Mask Girl was extremely popular for its sharp approach to lookism and plot twist to the mixed genre of thriller and black comedy, which was serialized in Naver Webtoon in 2015. Let me briefly introduce Mask Girl, a video of a popular webtoon of the same name, and its cast and stories.

Character Info
Mask Girl is about the turbulent life of the main character, Kim Mo-mi, who committed three murders. The main character, Kim Mo-mi, will live three different lives by changing her name, and all three actors played Kim Mo-mi.
NANA and Ko Hyun-jung were already officially unveiled a long time ago, and the other was thoroughly veiled until a few days before the broadcast, and her name was rookie actor Lea Han Byeol.
Kim Mo-mi A
Since she was young, she dreamed of becoming a celebrity with the public's attention for dancing and various talents, but she was always intimidated by her ugly face.
Kim Mo-mi, who is so ugly but has a great body. She can never give up her dream life as a celebrity because of her overflowing talent, eventually wears a mask and catches people's attention by broadcasting on the Internet.
She is an ordinary office worker during the day, but she is very popular for her flamboyant dance by covering her face at night and showing her sexy body through Internet broadcasts.
One day, you meet a male fan who approaches you with bad intentions, and an unintended incident occurs when he is criticized for his appearance.
But the process was very unfortunate. It happened by accident, and there was no reason to be a murderer, but it completely changed her life.
In fact, in the original webtoon, Kim Mo-mi impulsively kills because she can't hold back her anger, but a different setting is applied in the Netflix drama.
Rookie actor Lea Han Byeol, who played Kim Mo-mi A, passed the audition proudly after a 1,000-to-1 competition. In his first debut film, Mask Girl, the original author was also evaluated as showing an amazing synchronization.
The acting in the drama was too great to think that he was a rookie actor who just debuted. Through this work, she signed a formal contract with an agency called Ace Factory.
Born on March 18, 1992, at the age of 31, she is said to have had a slight appearance complex, as in her work.
Of course, it is much prettier than Kim Mo-mi of the original webtoon, but I think the mysterious atmosphere and acting that cannot be explained are perfectly close to the original work.
I will cheer for the name of "Rookie Actor Lea Han Byeol" to be known to the world through my debut film Mask Girl.
Kim Mo-mi B
Actress Nana played Kim Mo-mi B in her second life, who had the ideal look she had dreamed of after crossing the river that she should not cross. He works as a showgirl to hide his killer's identity and is cheered again by countless men in real space, not on the Internet, under colorful lights, but unfortunately, he is caught up in an unintended incident again.
Not only beautiful appearance, but behind its splendor, it expressed the anxious despair of being chased by the past, which cannot be hidden, with an animal sense.
As you can see from the work, Kim Mo-mi's anxious and desperate life is so perfectly reflected in her splendid appearance.
Kim Mo-mi B, who lives her second life under the name of Ah-reum, plays the biggest role in the webtoon, and NANA's performance in this Netflix original series is believed to have played a sufficient role. Through this work, she seems to have returned to the viewers with a more mature performance.
Kim Mo-mi C
Actress Ko Hyun-jung, who exudes overwhelming charisma just by appearing in the video, played Kim Mo-mi C, who gave birth to her daughter Kim Mi-mo and gave herself up to the police to live her third life in prison for more than 10 years.
I was very impressed by her thin, haggard body and sharp jawline. Living quietly in prison, she is forced to escape to protect her daughter.
Actress Ko Hyun-jung made an unconventional transformation this time to play the role of Kim Mo-mi perfectly. Her acting skills could be seen only by the detached expression that seemed familiar to the prisoner's life.
Although it was a short episode, her performance was charismatic enough to repay viewers' expectations.
The three actors who played Kim Mo-mi were called Kim Mo-mi A, B, and C throughout the filming.
After the shoot, actor Ko Hyun-jung approached new actor Lea Han Byeol, who was bound to be awkward, scared, and new, and greeted her first as Kim Mo-mi C and hugged her warmly.
Director Kim Yong-hoon is said to have praised new actor Lea Han Byeol at the audition for the role of Kim Mo-mi A, who feels inferior to her ugly appearance, saying it was a fateful meeting. In return, Lea Han Byeol showed a performance that was not like a rookie.
In addition to Lea Han Byeol, NANA and Ko Hyun-jung's shocking transformation, which perfectly digested past anxiety inherent in their colorful appearance, seems to have fully responded to viewers' expectations for Mask Girl.
Jou Oh-nam
Jou Oh-nam, a fellow employee of the same company, department, who is shy and ugly, but has a crush on Kim Mo-mi. He is also a person who has a appearance complex like Kim Mo-mi.
Since I was young, I have been bullied a lot because of my appearance, so I have been living quietly as if I were hiding naturally, and my work life is like that.
For him, however, Kim Mo-mi was a source of vitality in his life.
After work, Mask Girl appearing on the Internet broadcast is his only happiness, and from the moment he accidentally found out that the Mask Girl was Kim Mo-mi who worked with him, Kim Mo-mi became more than just a colleague in the same department.
His misguided love plays a crucial role in turning a Mask Girl, Kim Mo-mi, into a criminal. Jou Oh-nam, it is no exaggeration to say that he is the beginning and the end of all events.
The video below is about the double life of Jou Oh-nam in the work. Play the video if you're curious.
Actor Ahn Jae Hong starred as Jou Oh-nam.
Contrary to concerns about "who can imitate the overwhelming character of the webtoon", Ahn Jae Hong perfectly played the role of Jou Oh-nam in the work by more than 150%.
Kim Kyung-ja
In the drama, Kim Kyung-ja is the mother of Jou Oh-nam, who is devoted to her son. Having loved her son in her own wrong way, she has been estranged from her son Jou Oh-nam for a while, but has always lived only for her son.
However, Kim Kyung-ja suddenly finds out that her son is missing and tracks the case.
Actress Yeom Hye Ran, who recently boasts high stock prices with "The Glory Part 1 and 2" and "Amazing Rumor Season 1 and 2" , played Kim Kyung-ja, who is sometimes bizarre and sometimes scary.
She also showed almost the same synchronization as the original character. She has always acted with a warm image, but in this movie, she seems to have made a perfect transformation.
Yeom Hye Ran, who plays Kim Kyung-ja, is a character who shares the entire process of the work and its ending, and through this work, she showed a bizarre and brutal performance, which I think was enough to impress viewers once again.
The video below is a collection of Kim Kyung-ja's great acting in the drama, so please enjoy her acting.
Kim Choon-ae·Choi Bu-yong
Kim Chun-ae is a show girl who plays as a nickname Lara in the club, and is a close friend of Kim Mo-mi, who is living her second life after plastic surgery.
Like Kim Mo-mi, she had a complex about appearance since she was young, and she met Kim Mo-mi while working at a club to make more money after plastic surgery. Similar situations, Kim Mo-mi and Kim Chun-ae relied on each other enough to share their past.
Kim Chun-ae lives with her boyfriend, Choi Bu-yong, who once was a member of an idol group and has fallen into the abyss.
One day, when Kim Chun-ae was on the verge of being killed by Choi Bu-yong, Kim Mo-mi joined forces with Kim Chun-ae to commit murder again.
Actor Han Jae-yi played the role of Kim Chun-ae. And her boyfriend Choi Bu-yong was played by Lee Jun-young, a member and actor of the incumbent idol group UNB.
In fact, in the original work, Kim Mo-mi and Kim Chun-ae are not close friends, but rather, they look just like Kim Mo-mi, so they are unintentionally intertwined with Kim Mo-mi. One day, I accidentally killed my boyfriend Choi Bu-yong and cried to Kim Mo-mi for help. However, the drama is set differently from the original.
Park Ki-hoon
Park Ki-hoon, a perfect boss but married man who works for Kim Momi, is in his 40s, but has a clean appearance, a solid figure, and excellent ability.
Kim Mo-mi likes him very much, but he was already having an affair with another woman in the same department.
Actor Choi Daniel played the role of Park Ki-hoon, a natural playboy and a strong pride in himself. It was a short appearance, but it was enough to show off its charm.
An honest review
Mask Girl was released on Naver Webtoon for about three years from August 15, 2015 to June 9, 2018, and was serialized with three seasons and 130 episodes.
It was a work that teenagers could not see, but it became more popular as the season continued with fresh materials and considerable suction power.
The original webtoon seems to be a cartoon criticizing lookism, but if you look closely, it expresses social issues such as stalkers, hidden cameras, social media leaks, homophobia, celebrity sexual favors, garbage reporters, and corrupt humans.
It was also evaluated that it carefully expressed the complex relationships and emotions of characters where good and evil coexist, causing viewers to think of numerous things such as family, love, guilt, trauma, and moral problems.
Netflix's original series Mask Girl was able to completely fall into the work with the actors' unconventional transformation and best acting skills to match the solid original.
However, the reason why the main character Kim Mo-mi committed the murder and the fact that various contents are far from the original is a little disappointing in the adaptation of the work, and it is regrettable that the episode is too short.
Actually, Kim Mo-mi, the main character of the original film, is not a very generous and righteous character.
Of course, if you don't know the original and see it as a separate work from the original, you would have thought it was a really well-made work. However, please understand that I have no choice but to express my regret for the work because I am a passionate viewer who has already been impressed by the original webtoon.
